“The Advanced Manufacturing Expo was a great experience; one that brought a lot of insight into
the future and reflection on how we will prepare our students!”

Science@OC’s and UBM Canon will be hosting the 3rd Annual STEM Education Day at the Design and Manufacturing Expo in Anaheim, CA. Each year, over 30,000 participants attend the West Coast’s largest manufacturing event to learn about the latest industry trends and network with representatives from 2,400 exhibiting companies.

This is the ultimate opportunity for middle school teachers to see first-hand how to connect their STEM program to the skills and jobs required in advanced manufacturing. It’s a “must-see” for STEM educators. Imagine spending a day with like-minded colleagues from across Orange County in a STEM-industry environment where you can:

    • observe and learn how technology is being utilized in advanced manufacturing
    • see how 3D printing and robotics are used in a spectrum of industries
    • talk to professionals in the field about how the technology is used or what inspired their career path
    • open doors to new relationships with STEM professionals in local industries

This full-day event will help educators gain a better understanding of the quality and vast array of career opportunities available to students in advanced manufacturing, packaging and medical device design. The day will include a keynote speaker, panel discussion with STEM professionals and tour of the exhibition floor where you can explore all aspects of the manufacturing process and interact with manufacturing professionals.

The event will be held on Tuesday, Feb 9th from 8:30am-3:30pm at the Anaheim Convention Center. Space is limited to 20 middle school teachers. Contact Laurie Smith, program manager, via email at or via phone 949.300.9224.
