A big Science@OC shout-out to PIMCO for the great work by their 12 volunteers, who joined us on Wed, July 26th to refurbish kits that will be used this coming fall in middle school science classes focused on magnetism and electricity. The PIMCO volunteers cleaned and restocked 37 boxes which will serve nearly 500 students. They also donated $1,000 to our cause. Our teachers and students thank you!

The volunteers were part of PIMCO’s Global Week of Volunteering, a worldwide celebration of the company’s longstanding commitment to its communities. This year, PIMCO employees globally participated in more than 100 volunteer projects.

Corporate programs like PIMCO’s are a great way for companies to involve their employees in their communities. If you’re employed at an Orange County company with a similar volunteer program, please consider signing on with Science@OC for a few hours a year. You will be making a meaningful impact on student excitement for and understanding of science.
