Join the Science@OC STEMCorps

WHAT: Science@OC is enlisting professionals and college students interested in sharing their passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) into our STEMCorps Volunteer Program.

WHY: When you share your passion for STEM you inspire students to think about career options, ask questions and make informed decisions about their education and future. As a STEMCorps member you can:

    • Share your passion for the work you do with educators and students
    • Inspire students to excel in science and explore their interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics
    • Explain how a STEM career is purposeful, rewarding and within reach
    • Introduce students and their parents to career options and pathways

HOW: STEMCorps members can “Make a Difference” through these volunteer activities:

STEMploration: Interact with middle school students and their parents. Share your career pathway, describe your work and answer questions. Time Commitment 2-4 hours

STEMQuest: Project-Based Learning: Impact student learning as you work with educators to design relevant, authentic projects.Time Commitment 4-6 hours during the summer

Community STEM Synergy Event: Interact with middle school students and their parents. During this fun-filled event, you can career and educational pathway, facilitate an engaging hands-on session as you guide student and parent discovery and understanding. Time Commitment 4-6 hours, as requested
